THE EXCURSION OF "SERRE OF LES"

Recommendations : identical to those to observe on the circuit of Chirouses, because of the zones of pastures which you are cross. Good walking shoes are there too essential. In situation of absence of wind, the snack at the top is one moment which one also remembers (in the contrary case, but for other reasons...

General information : The "serre of Lès" is presented in the form of a culminating moutain, whose largely round top dominates of strong slopes. tis top, the sight is incomparable, as well on the whole of "Boutières" on the remote Alps. From here, one can also contemplate a good part of the circuit of  "Chirouses", in particular the falls of the volcano. In fact, only a valley separates the two circuits : that of "Auzène", savage and beautiful, which made formerly the happiness of the crews which took part in  the rally of "Monté-Carlo", of time or this one still crossed Ardeche.
One excursion unforgettable, very accessible, to make preferably in spring, for the variety of the flora, or in autumn for the beauty of the colors.

Card-index technical : approximate length : 12 km, average duration of the course: 4 hours, mini altitude : 605 m, altitude at the top : 951 m. Difficulty : easy. Exposure : in very great part with the sun. Summit very exposed with the wind  and little recommended in the event of stormy situation. A detailed topo-guide is available to the committee of country of "Ollières sur Eyrieux".

Situation : The departure is practically done opposite the town of "St Etienne de Serre". The shortest access: by D 244, starting from "St Sauveur de Montagut", In the valley of "Eyrieux". Chart IGN to be used is the 2927East (and a very small part of the 2937 west, for the purists, but one can make without).
